Six Flags CEO Mark Shapiro and his vice-president Mark Quenzel called into Europa-Park just before Easter, following an invitation from managing director Roland Mack.

Touching down at the Black Forest Airport on April 5, the duo enjoyed an informative stay, and were said to be particularly impressed with the family atmosphere. As has been well documented, Six Flags as a group is now pursuing a more family-focused agenda at its parks in the States.

As well as enjoying rides like Poseidon, Pegasus and Euromir – all built by Mack Rides – Shapiro and Quenzel also stayed at Europa-Park’s own Roman-themed hotel. Colosseo.

Europa-Park is Germany’s biggest theme park, entertaining nearly 4 million guests a year – over a million more than the most popular Six Flags venue.
