Supended Top Spin for Phantasialand
Published:  03 April, 2007

Construction began March 12 on a new Suspended Top Spin ride from Huss Park Attractions at Phantasialand in Brühl, Germany.

To be named Talocan, the attraction will feature an Aztec theme inspired by a storyline of Talocan, ruler of the Gods. The ride has been built in a spectacular setting in the park’s Mexican area, partly in the ground and incorporating a range of special effects, including fire and water.

The ride itself is has a footprint of 23 x 12 metres and a maximum height of 18 metres. and is capable of carrying up to 38 passengers at any one time in a single gondola. Passengers are seated back to back in two rows of 19 each with their legs dangling beneath them. Hourly capacity is approximately 900 riders.

There were a number of reasons why Phantasialand decided to add the new ride from Huss: “We only had a very limited space for a new attraction in the Mexico area, so we could not add another rollercoaster, but we opened the inverted coaster Black Mamba last year, so were looking for another kind of fast attraction,” notes press spokeswoman Christiane Dahm.

The ride will be the first suspended version of Top Spin in Europe.
