Described as the “audiovisual innovation of the decade, FogScreen produces a thin curtain of ‘dry’ fog that serves as a translucent projection screen, displaying images that literally float through the air.
During New York Fashion Week recently, the projection technology was used by both Victoria’s Secret and Georg Jensen (pictured), who were launching a new range of jewellery.
At present around 70% of FogScreen installations are in the TV, film and entertainment industry, but after a successful Euro Attractions Show recently in Seville, the Finnish company is confident of getting more orders from the amusement industry.
One impressed onlooker was StarParks executive vice-president of marketing and strategy, Cees Kikstra. “I think this can be manipulated in a lot of ways and offer some very interesting possibilities,” he told us. One suggested use for FogScreen is in dark rides, where a car could travel through a mist projection.
