Aquaventure opens in Bahamas
Published:  09 March, 2007

A new 63-acre waterpark called Aquaventure has opened in the Bahamas as part of the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island.

A highlight of the park is a mile-long river ride with high intensity rapids and wave surges, plus special effects including false fire in the tunnels. A number of slides and other attractions are also included. Once guests are sat in their inner tubes, water escalators, waves, water surges and master blaster technology propel them along. In fact, they never have to leave the water as they are propelled back up the slide tower via conveyors.

NBGS International supplied the waterslides, conveyors and control systems. Whitewater West provided the children’s pool. Henry, Schooly & Associates designed the waterpark features, except for the children’s pool, while staff at the Atlantis were responsible for many of the special effects.
