Classic compact coaster designs from Pinfari could be built once again following acquisition of intellectual property rights by fellow Italian manufacturer Interpark Srl.
One of the country’s oldest ride builders, established 1926, Pinfari ceased production at its Suzzara premises just a few years ago. The proud firm, owned latterly by the Begotti family, suffered in recent years due partly to cheap copies of its designs, notably the ‘Big Apple’ caterpillar coaster.
Rights to build its rides, including the popular Zyklon range of coasters (pictured), were picked up by Interpark from the administrators in January and production will now be shifted to the company’s plant at Spilamberto near Modena. Interpark has also secured the services of several ex-Pinfari staff and plans to introduce new models with similar compact credentials, as well as supplying spare parts to existing customers.
“This is great news for the 318 operators out there already with Pinfari rides and ends one-and-a-half years of uncertainty,” states Interpark’s Giulio De Maria. “We look forward to continuing to be of service to them, and hope to interest new customers with some new designs soon.”
