Portopialand
Published:  01 January, 2007

Italian ride manufacturer IE Park has already sold at least three of the rides it acquired from the now defunct Japanese amusement park Portopialand.

A Zierer BRMX rollercoaster has been delivered to Camelot, Lancashire, England, a Huss Condor is on its way to the new Wild West World in Wichita, Kansas, and a Flying Carpet is due to find a new home in Egypt following reconditioning at the IE Park factory. And now the company’s sales director Andrea Munari, a 63.5-metre giant Ferris Wheel by Sanyo might also have found a taker. Still remaining are a Mack Bobsled Coaster, Hopkins Shoot the Chute, Soriani Top Spin, Zierer giant Wave Swinger and Meisho double deck carousel. The rides are currently in storage at IE Park’s premises in Praticello, Northern Italy and all can be reconditioned prior to delivery if required. According to Munari, some of the attractions offer a saving of to two thirds on new. Portopialand, which was situated in Kobe, closed permanently on March 31.
