Monorail-themed waterslide for Disneyland Hotel

Published:
07 July, 2010

Currently undergoing a renovation, the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, California, will soon include a new pool and water play area.
With a nod towards the original Disneyland signage, the park’s name will be spelled out in blocks atop a platform supporting two water slides. Reminiscent of the hotel’s original monorail station, each slide’s entrance will feature a replica monorail car that guests glide through as they slide down towards the pool below. For younger guests, the area will include a third two-lane mini slide sitting just 1-metre high 5.8 metres long, plus a series of small bubble jets in which to play.
Changes to restore and highlight the original mid-century style of the hotel include retheming the three guest room towers. There will also be a renovation of an existing pool, plus new dining and lounge experiences. The pool construction work is due to begin next month (August). The complete hotel renovation will be complete in 2012.
