Sky Pirates return to Hellendoorn
Published:  01 January, 2007
Sky Pirates, by Falcon Entertainment, will be updated with new comedy sequences and a new set

Falcon Entertainment, the Scottish stunt show specialist, is to bring a new production of its popular Sky Pirates high dive show to Hellendoorn in Holland for 2007.

Sky Pirates 2 will feature a new set themed like a harbour with a half sunk ship inside. To increase authenticity, the water tank will be sunk into the lagoon. The 30-minute production will be packed full of adventure, acrobatics and effects.

At Fort Fun in Germany, a sister to Hellendoorn, Falcon will also present a diving show next season. Replacing the Hopi Daga acrobatic show, it will feature a fort trading post set and more comedy content than previously.

“There’ll be as much fast action as possible and less talk,” describes Falcon’s Brian Reid. “That’s what audiences want.”

Diving shows are making something of a return, he notes, because they require minimal space. “A lot of parks are selling off land now. A diving show can be accommodated in an area as small as 8 x 12 metres – and it can be seen from anywhere in the park.”

Falcon Entertainment is still finalising its 2007 show schedule, but hopes to stage productions at parks and attractions in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Holland, Italy and Portugal.
