Productive winter for SBF/Visa
Published:  01 January, 2007

Italian manufacturing group SBF/Visa has plenty of new rides and ideas planned for the winter. The Tower Swing is the company’s answer to the popular wave swinger/tower ride concept pioneered in Austria. Featuring a more modest tower height, SBF/Visa’s ride is available both as a park and travelling model. The first unit, a trailer-mounted version 18-metres high, has been sold to a European showman.

Already involved in the design of water rides for around 20 years, SBF/Visa plans to release a new product called the Niagara Flume. This compact ride features a vertical lift and a footprint of 42 x 20 metres.

Still in the early stages of development is the Kamik. Using the same frame and arms as the Sky Glider pedal cycle, the ride features a gondola turning horizontally as the main arms turns vertically through 360 degrees. Exact configurations are still being worked on and will be developed according to customer specifications.

After the success last year with its Traffic Jam, SBF/Visa has released a new version featuring the same eye-catching, colourful spinning platforms but the addition of a lifting mechanism on each side. The attraction was showcased at the IAAPA Attractions Expo in Atlanta, where it created much interest.

A new Panoramic Tower observation ride, 43-metres high, was recently built up at the SBF factory. The gondola can seat 40 people and the ride is equipped with a programme offering a variety of ride patterns: Lifting and turning, lifting without turning, stopping on top, turning on top etc. The ride has been TÜV tested and is also available in 50 and 60-metre versions. This first 40-metre model is destined for a new park in Turkmenistan, where SBF/Visa will supply around 25 attractions in total.

Additional park deliveries from SBF/Visa include a double chain lift rollercoaster for a shopping mall in Istanbul, and an African-themed Swinger ride for Serengeti Park near Hannover, Germany.
