‘Probably the longest flume ride in the world’
Published: 01 January, 2007
Bear Rides of Switzerland is supplying what the company’s Peter Ziegler reckons is “probably the longest flume ride in the world” to a new park in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China.
The 1km-long ride will feature five lifts, six drops, and two stations located 50 metres apart in height. A total of 29 6-seater boats (not logs) will be used, and at one point in the ride they will travel through a building.
Construction on the ride started July, and it will be part of the new Eco-Park project, a fourth park in Shenzhen for the OCT Group. Steel work has been completed in China. “A ride of this scale can not be made in Europe alone,” adds Ziegler.
