After celebrating the best season in its 34-year history, Europa-Park near Freiburg in Germany is to expand its Iceland area for 2010.

The new land debuted in spring 2009 and is home to the Blue Fire Megacoaster, which was ridden by 54% of park guests ridden during the season. Next year visitors will also be able to enjoy a Mack interactive water ride, a monorail extension and Gazprom visitor centre. The Russian energy provider has been signed up a new sponsor, joining existing in-park brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Coca-Cola, Nestlé, Schöller, Adidas and Kraft Foods.

Meanwhile guests staying at the Tipi Village will be able to enjoy a new saloon bar in 2010, offering a wild-west hang out and action-packed Indian show to captivate the camp’s guests.
