Kennywood's new coaster
Kennywood, West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, will add a Linear Synchronous Motor (LSM) launch coaster by Premier Rides for the 2010 season. Totalling 2,100ft in length the ride will feature a zero to 50 mph launch in three seconds, a vertical ascent, 90-degree drop and three inversions.
The new coaster is to be constructed on the current location of the Turnpike, a ride that has been at Kennywood since 1966. Turnpike will not be shelved for good, however, as there are plans to bring back the ride in the near future in a different location.
