Beijing’s Happy Valley opened in July and is located in Chaoyang District of the Chinese capital, about six miles from downtown. It is a major attraction to locals and tourists, symbolising China's cultural variety. Covering an area of 247 acres, the first phase of the park occupies 133 acres.
An additional 25 acres make up the commercial square. The park is divided into six themed zones. Dominating Atlantis, and visible from many other areas, is Shui Jing Shen Yi, or The Magic Crystal Wing. China’s first flying coaster and one of the park’s premier attractions, it curls in, around and through a man-made mountain icon and is themed as the flying machine of that ancient lost civilisation.
Transported through the 2,799ft layout in a lie-on-your-stomach position, passengers are turned upside-down two times during the ride. Following a curved first drop, guests fly through a pretzel-shaped loop, spirals, a horseshoe curve and an inclined curve with an in-line roll as they blast through chasms and around the remains of a lost world. With rides like The Magic Crystal Wing, Happy Valley is now thrilling guests of all ages and recently enjoyed a successful Golden Week holiday.
