Allou! Fun Park
In a short space of time, Allou! has become the number one amusement park in Greece, attracting as many as two million annual guests. Here Hellenic Entertainment Parks owner Dimitri Kontoyiannis, who 10 years ago hadn’t even ridden a log flume, shares his story.
Intimidator at Carowinds
The skyline has changed at Carowinds in Charlotte, North Carolina. Inspired by the nickname given to motor racing legend Dale Earnhardt, Intimidator is a $23 million (€17m) steel megacoaster towering 232 feet (70.7-metres) tall. Paul Ruben reports.
Skyraker 001
The UK’s only Drop ‘n’ Twist Tower has opened at Flambards in Cornwall. The 28-metre attraction is the tallest of its kind from the Italian manufacturer SBF, and is proving a big hit with park guests.

Peppa Pig at Paultons
The first themed area dedicated to the character Peppa Pig will open Easter 2011 at Paultons Park in Hampshire, England. The hit pre-school brand is broadcast on TV channels in 180 countries and in the UK alone generated sales of over £100 million ($1.54m/€115m) in the last financial year.

Last summer I visited the historic Sylvan Beach Amusement Park in Sylvan Beach, New York, and was pleased to find a Rotor. I hadn't ridden a Rotor in years. Riding the Rotor gives me the spins.

The park industry managed to weather the economic storm at a level equal or greater than many other industries in 2009, according to the latest amusement park attendance report from TEA and AECOM (formerly Economics Research Associates/ERA).
Tourism & Property summit returns to Shanghai
A third Asia Tourism Property & Attraction Summit (ATPAS) is planned for Shanghai on May 31 and June 1 – timed to coincide with Expo 2010.
Toverland expansion announced
The Dutch park Toverland is to expand its Troy zone with the opening of a new harbour area and a pirate ship attraction. Even bigger things are planned for 2011, when the park celebrates its 10th anniversary.
