Märchenpark, Neusiedlersee, Austria, was so impressed with its crocodile-themed mini flume from ABC Rides that it also commissioned a railguided tractor ride from the same manufacturer.
Although a children’s ride, the park’s owners, the Müller family, were keen that the tractors took on an authentic look. As it’s Austria, they had to be Steyr tractors, so ABC came up with a very detailed design.
The tractors are also built to a high level. A cross-shaft axle with two powerful geared motors carry each vehicle with ease through along a themed countryside path, giving the passengers the feeling they are really on a farm. Adding to the experience is the “real” sound of Steyr motors.
Two children and two adults can be accommodated in each tractor, and the passengers up front have the chance to vary the speed pressing a gas pedal. The tractors are equipped with distance sensors to prevent them from crashing in to one another.
The Märchenpark installation features eight tractors and a 250-metre track.
