Valleyfair, Shakopee, Minnesota, will introduce Renegade, a new wooden coaster in 2007. Designed by Great Coasters International, the $6.5 million ride will combine the best features of out and back and twister coasters.

Renegade’s features will include a twisting first drop, a low-to-the-ground high-speed S-turn and a highspeed station fly-by. The 3,113ft-long coaster will stand 104ft tall and will drop 91ft, reaching a top speed of 52mph.Two high-performance Millennium Flyer Trains will each accommodate 24 passengers.

“There won’t be a dull moment on this ride,” believes Alan Schwartz,Valleyfair’s vice-president and general manager. “This will be a lively, smooth ride and an exciting addition to our collection of coasters.”

Renegade will be the park’s seventh roller coaster and mark the first time an all wooden coaster has been built at Valleyfair since the High Roller was introduced in 1976.
