Vodoo rules at Dorney Park
Voodoo, a U-shaped suspended impulse coaster from Intamin, will thrill visitors in 2008 at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom, Allentown, Pennsylvania. Dorney's 10th coaster, Voodoo sends 28 riders rocketing from one 184ft tower to the other over 704ft of twisted steel track.
Passengers are first thrust into a 90-degree vertical ascent up the front spike only to freefall in reverse through the station before the linear induction motors (LIMs) kick in to accelerate them backwards up a helix. The next pass brings riders to a top speed of 70 mph. The entire ride experience covers over 2,700ft of track. Voodoo is Pennsylvania's first impulse coaster.
