Tokyo's Tower of Terror stands 194ft tall

Tokyo DisneySea, Japan, has finally opened its own version of Tower of Terror, making it the park’s 26th attraction. Located in the themed American Waterfront port, Tower of Terror takes guests through an eerie, abandoned hotel where they experience a series of paranormal manifestations before heading for an exhilarating climax.

The attraction stands at 194ft tall, making it the tallest building in Tokyo DisneySea. Its height, however, is not the only feature that makes this attraction stand out.

It also offers guests the scariest and most thrilling experience in the park and a compelling, indepth background story.

At a budget of US$179 million, it represents the largest investment for a single facility in the history of Tokyo Disney Resort.

The original Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, opened at Florida’s Walt Disney World Resort in 1994. Discussions to bring this attraction to Tokyo DisneySea began in the spring of 2002, shortly after the park opened.

Teams from both the Walt Disney Company and local partner Oriental Land Co Ltd worked together to create an original background story for the attraction so that it would be quite different from the American version.
