M&D's rediscover Mine Train
M&D’s theme park, near Glasgow, Scotland, has added a sixth rollercoaster to its line-up for 2007. Eagle-eyed visitors, however, will notice that the ride was once the park’s Jamming spinning coaster.
Built by Barbisan in 1999, the ride encountered a number of technical issues and failed to reach its full potential, so M&D (Matthew & Douglas Taylor) took it back to Italy to have reworked into a more conventional but ultimately very popular attraction.
The transformation has been completed by ex-Pinfari designer Marc Begotti. Other coasters at the Scottish park include the Tsunami suspended coaster, Tornado twin-looper, Express and Big Apple family coaster, all by Pinfari.
M&D’s have also added a set of new Barbieri bumper cars this season to their Dodgem track, and guests can expect guest appearances throughout the summer from the 50-metre tall Bomber Mark 2 extreme propeller ride, which is usually presented on the travelling fair circuit.
