Parking issues worry park guests
Almost two thirds (60 per cent) of UK motorists would avoid visiting an attraction where there was a lack of parking and over half (51 per cent) would stay away from somewhere renowned for bad traffic.
These might not be the most startling facts, but they do confirm that attractions operators should pay plenty of attention to where, how – and for how much – guests should park their cars.
These and related statistics are the result of research carried out on behalf of Green Flag Motoring Assistance, which also revealed that seven out of 10 potential guests would avoid a place where parking was “expensive.”The survey did not ascertain what an acceptable level be.
Location of parking is also a concern with 69 per cent of those questioned claiming they would avoid an attraction completely if they could not park close by. Almost half (49 per cent) found driving distance and difficult roads off-putting when planning a trip. And to escape the queues at the end of the day, 62 per cent admitted to leaving early and cutting their day short.
