Erieview Park, a small American amusement park in the Lake Erie resort village of Geneva-on-the-Lake, has closed. Founded in 1945 by EM ‘Pop’ Pera as a kiddie park with just two rides, the venue eventually expanded to include 198 rides large and small.

The park is located in the centre of the Geneva-on-the-Lake entertainment strip on an eight-acre land parcel. Most recently it was owned and operated by three grandchildren of Pera, general manager Don Woodward and sisters Martha Fenlason and Donna Colby.

“Like many lakefront areas, it has become a case of the land becoming more suitable for other uses,” explains Woodward. “We have really never taken advantage of its 700ft of shoreline, and we hope to make that a focal point. We are looking at three different and diverse uses for the area, and are currently involved in a feasibility study.”
