Europa-Park dark ride goes online
The line between what is real and what is a computer game has been blurred by Europa-Park in Germany, which has created an online version of its new Abenteuer (Adventure) Atlantis dark ride.
This interactive new attraction, designed and supplied by Mack Rides, is set in the famous sunken mythical city. Located within the Greek section of Europa-Park, guests journey beneath the sea in search of treasure. Ride vehicles styled after mini submarines transport passengers through the ride as they weave past coral reefs, shoals of shimmering fish and an abandoned graveyard of sunken ships.
The ride, which lasts two minutes, features 58 ride vehicles on a continuous loop. Along the way, players can hit over 80 targets using infrared rays. The ‘shooting’ element has deliberately been softened up, meaning the ride can be enjoyed by anyone over the age of four. But the fun doesn’t have to stop once the ride is over, as guests can it do all again on their computers at home, and try and better the score they got at the park.
Also new this season at Europa-Park is the Science House, where curious young minds can discover, probe and understand.
