17th Coaster stampedes into Cedar Point
New in 2007 at Cedar Point, Sandusky, Ohio, will be Maverick, a $21 million (€17m) steel rollercoaster from leading Swiss manufacturer IntaRide.
Located on 5.5 acres of rugged terrain in Frontiertown, the steeltrack Maverick will feature two linear synchronous motor (LSM) launch areas that send six 12-passenger trains over a 4,450ft-long twisting course with a maximum height of 105ft,winding between canyon walls, over water and through a dark tunnel.
It will be Cedar Point’s 17th rollercoaster and the first built in Frontiertown since 1991.
