Launch Coaster for Lagoon
Utah’s Lagoon amusement park will introduce a new Tower Launch Coaster from German manufacturer Zierer for 2007.
Called Wicked, it will use LSM power to catapult riders up and, with assistance from LSM boosters at the top of the 110ft tower, over and back down the other side of the hill at speeds close to 41mph.
The eight-passenger vehicles travel individually and achieve speeds up to 55mph along the 2,000ft layout. Guests will pass through steep valleys, high bank turns, a half-pipe, heart-roll inversion and more elements. They will be seated in two rows of four, facing forward, with the back row seats elevated above the front row. The lap/leg restraints will provide significant upper body freedom. It will be the tallest and fastest coaster at the park.
