The world's first Ferrari theme park is due to built in Abu Dhabi, reports DubaiCityGuide.com. Advertising InfoAbu Dhabi, a Persian Gulf emirate plans to build the attraction, just like in Dubai, to lessen its dependence on oil reserves.
Also involved in the project is Aldar Properties PJSC, a developer owned by Abu Dhabi’s ruling al-Nahyan family, which owns 5 per cent of the world-famous Italian sports car brand.
To be named Ferrari World, the park will headline the transformation of emirate’s $40 billion transformation of Yas Island, a 2,500 hectare plot opposite Iran. “Yas Island will be a global destination that will take Abu Dhabi to the world,’’ says Aldar CEO Ronald Barrott.
Ferrari World is expected to be completed by 2009 and will be a “hi-tech theme park,’ including a race track, simulator rides, rollercoasters and an interactive museum. Will any of Italy’s many ride manufacturers be chosen as suppliers? Wait and see.
