USA comes to the UAE!
The world’s largest indoor theme park is promised as part of a new mixed-use development in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The Hollywood Adventures park will form part of the wider Emirates Spirit integrated community being developed by Hydra Properties of Dubai.
With a projected budget of €2.5 billion, Emirates Spirit will cover a total area of 1,154,000 square metres and, as well as the theme park, will also feature a themed shopping mall, entertainment mall, upscale dining, hotels, a conference centre, housing apartments and office complexes.
Occupying 100,000 sq m, Hollywood Adventures will feature exciting movie-themed attractions based on regional and international films, including several major dark rides, interactive themed shows and rides.
The lead designer will be the California-based Leisure Entertainment Consultancy (LEC), which will oversee the masterplan, theme park design, attraction production as well as the mall and hotel design. EOS Rides of Italy will act as ride and engineering consultant to the park. The Emirates Spirit project consortium also includes the Italian Group of Sharjah, Advanced Animations, USA; and Delta Engineering from Italy.
Emirates Spirit is slated to open summer 2009.
