MyVidayo

by KPN/Van Egdom

A number of parks are offering on-ride DVDs this season, but now two Dutch companies have partnered to develop what could be the first such system exclusively for waterpark attractions.

MyVidayo, from KPN in association with Van Egdom, is a new product that can be installed throughout a waterpark or amusement park and is triggered by guests on different attractions via RFID wristbands so that a complete picture of their visit can be compiled.

The finished footage can be supplied either as a DVD, cut with stock footage of the park, or downloaded from a website or via mobile phone etc. The films can be ordered online up to seven days after the park visit.

“This system offers endless viral marketing opportunities for parks,” adds Van Egdom’s Lars Lenders.

A trial system is already in use at Dutch Water Dreams in Zoetermeer. Meanwhile Van Egdom waterpark equipment, including its new Tube Sensations slides, can be supplied with the system pre-installed.

MyVidayo was developed in 2006 when KPN was asked to devise a product that allowed marathon runners to download a film of themselves. KPN now plans to upscale the system to offer over 100 cameras per location.
