Maurer x 9

Maurer Söhne will open nine new rollercoasters in 2011, including its first ever rides in China.

For the OCT Group in China, the German manufacturer is supplying two SkyLoop rides (as pictured), as well as another for the new World Joyland park in Changzhou. These inaugural sales have been facilitated by a full time staff member who previously worked in China for Maurer’s bridge supply division.

In Europe, a large number of deliveries are planned, including a SkyLoop for Linnanmäki in Finland, launch coaster for Bayern Park in Germany, spinning coaster for Bobbejaanland in Belgium and both a spinning coaster and a launch coaster for Rainbow MagicLand near Rome.

Planned in the US, meanwhile, is a Wild Mouse for Six Flags New England in Massachusetts.

According to Maurer’s Horst Ruhe, the SkyLoop is a hit with operators due to its small footprint and high visibility: “It’s a landmark attraction that people are fascinated by,” he says.
