Märchenpark expands

Austrian attraction announces €4.4m of improvements

After a successful jubilee season, in which the park attracted more than 300,000 guests for the very first time, Märchenpark in Austria has announced further expansion plans for 2009.

Over €4 million is to be invested, introducing a number of new attractions and infrastructure improvements, including a new restaurant, new cashier stations and increased parking. Three new rides  – Sea Serpent, Crazy Scarecrow and Water Fight – will be ready for the start of the season on April 4.

“These new additions show the trust management has in its guests,” says a Märchenpark spokesperson. “They are also meant as a thank you to our regular customers who have been so loyal to the park for many years.”

Not only did visitor numbers rise in 2008, but so too did sales of season tickets. Guests were able to take advantage of a new 140,000 square metre extension, including the park’s first ever rollercoaster. Märchenpark is located in the tourist area of Neusiedlersee.
