The upcoming water park in Coventry, which is due to open to the public in early 2019, finally has a name – The Wave. The name was derived from the building’s modern design.
The water park is estimated to cost £36.7m, and will feature nine water slides. Next year, visitors will be able to ride the Navigator, a waterpark roller coaster inside a tube, and the Speed Slide with its drop of 20m. Inside the building, the design stacks facilities vertically rather than horizontally, meaning thast most of the water features and high-thrill rides will be on the building’s upper levels.
The Wave is Coventry’s biggest single investment in sport and activity, and will also include a day spa, 25m x 4 lane swimming pool, fitness suit, squash courts, and dance studio.
