Al Montazah park updates to launch in February

The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) has announced it will spend Dh100 million on the second phase of updates at the Al Montazah amusement and water theme park in Sharjah., UAE.

Details of the new features and extensions were revealed at a press conference. Shurooq revealed that the capacity of the destination has been increased to accommodate 7,000 guests at the water park and 10,000 visitors at the amusement park, an increase of 4,000 and 3,000 respectively.

According to a presentation by Khalid Ibrahim Al Qaseer, manager of Al Montazah, new water park attraction area Pearls Kingdom is set to feature 35 attractions, a wave pool which accommodates more than 200 visitors, a slide tower with new slides and a kids’ area that can hold up to 110 children aged 4 to 14 years.

New amusement park Island of Legends at Al Montazah is inspired by a story based on a time travel journey through nine countries, explained Al Qaseer. The park will have 26 new attractions, and its adventure course has been expanded to accommodate a bouncing net that accommodates up to 100 kids at a time. He noted that the new attractions include a train that has two coaches carrying 40 guests, taking them on a journey that crosses all nine countries of the Island of Legends.

The water park at Al Montazah is set to reopen in February 2018 and the amusement park in the second quarter of 2018.
